It investigates the five key drivers – quality, workforce, cost, access and technology – across 13 clinical service areas, and summarises the research evidence and professional guidance available in each. It builds on a major forthcoming analysis of reviews of service reconfigurations commissioned by the National Institute of Health Research and conducted by the National Clinical Advisory Team (NCAT).
2014
2014
http://www.kingsfund.org.uk/publications/reconfiguration-clinical-services
134p.
London
Imison, Candace","Ross, Shilpa","Sonola, Lara","The King's Fund","Honeyman, Matthew
2014
2014
The King's Fund
access to health services","neonatal services","evidence based practice","community health services","costs","health technology","service relocation","paediatric care","acute care","urgent treatment","elective surgery","stroke","sustainability","trauma care","NHS","mental health services","service reconfiguration","vascular surgery","maternity services","accident & emergency services","workforce","quality
["admin_set/default-default-managing","admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing
deposited
v692t621m
v692t621m
open
Default Admin Set
Published Work
public
admin
batchuser@example.com
000115458"],"nesting_collection__deepest_nested_depth_isi":1
["PublishedWork
000130567
1a6ee1c1-e1b3-4938-bccb-fab034929ace
xs55mc046
xs55mc046
batchuser@example.com
batchuser@example.com
What will new technology mean for the NHS and its patients? : four big technological trends.
["admin_set/default
130567
To mark the BBC's coverage of the NHS's 70th birthday in July 2018, The King's Fund, the Health Foundation, the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the Nuffield Trust have been asked by the BBC to look at five key topics, covering the relative strengths and weaknesses of the health service, the state of social care, NHS funding, the public’s expectations of the NHS and the potential of technology to change things in future. This project and the reports we are producing are intended to inform the national conversation about the past, present and future of the NHS.","It is notoriously difficult to predict how technological advances will interact with health services and the policy landscape to shape the future of health care. This report provides numerous examples of developments that were anticipated to transform health care, but that failed to deliver – at least in the short term. Meanwhile, other key advances have been made with little fanfare or prior expectation. For these reasons, we do not attempt to predict what the ‘next big thing’ will be. Instead, we look at four current trends and what they might mean for health care over the next 5–10 years if they continue to progress.
2018
2018
https://www.kingsfund.org.uk/publications/nhs-70-what-will-new-technology-mean-nhs-and-its-patients","https://www.kingsfund.org.uk/projects/NHS70/research-group
21p.
London
The King's Fund","Castle-Clarke, Sophie","Institute for Fiscal Studies","Nuffield Trust","Health Foundation
2018
2018
The King's Fund","Nuffield Trust","Health Foundation","IFS
United Kingdom","trends","information technology","telehealth","personalised medicine","health technology","genetics","self care of patient","big data","telemedicine
["admin_set/default-default-managing","admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing
deposited
xs55mc046
xs55mc046
open
Default Admin Set
Published Work
public
admin
batchuser@example.com
000130567"],"nesting_collection__deepest_nested_depth_isi":1
"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
