Abstract
  • In 1983, the King's Fund gave a grant to the National Council for One Parent Families to initiate a pilot project in London to explore lone parents' views of their own health and the health of their children. The conference provided an opportunity to consolidate the work so far and to allow time for discussion. Particular attention was paid to five key areas: special health needs of one-parent families, health workers' recognition of these needs, what can be expected from health professionals, how attitudes might be changed and discussion of concrete proposals for future action.
