Abstract

This symposium was arranged to discuss the problems of hospital clinical records and was attended by historians, clinicians, epidemiologists, administrators, archivists, representatives of relevant organisations, and other people whose interest in the topic is well known. The symposium concentrated on how to deal more effectively with the problem of the ever-increasing volume of hospital clinical records. Seven pre-circulated papers were discussed in the morning and the afternoon was devoted to general discussion and the exchange of information. All papers are contained in this report.
