Abstract
  • This conference discussed the training needs in midwifery. During the morning session, a number of midwives gave presentations describing the training they had received, and whether they felt it had prepared them adequately for their role. The afternoon session was devoted to group discussion to identify midwifery training needs in the following areas: clinical practice skills; clinical teaching skills; counselling and interpersonal skills; ethical issues; adapting to change; continuing education.
