Abstract

This conference was arranged by the King's Fund Centre in conjunction with the Renal Society and the Royal College of Nursing's Renal and Transplant Forum. It brought together medical professionals, patients and their relatives, as well as dieticians, social workers, teachers and occupational therapists. Topics covered included the effects of renal illness and treatment on the family; co-ordinating the caring team; and the role of the social worker.
