Abstract

This guide to public involvement in primary care is written for people who are trying to put public involvement into practice, but is actually a presentation of findings from a year long research project. The project explored the diverse approaches of six primary care groups and trusts in London to public involvement. The book uses illustrations from these case studies throughout, and is structured and written so as to be accessible, practical and thought-provoking. As both public involvement and primary care rise up the NHS agenda, this is an invaluable insight into the challenges in practice of opening primary care to all local patient and public voices.
